What we cut on Main Street

Men's Haircuts, Fades and Beard Work in Old Town

The Main Street shop does men's haircuts, skin fades, low, mid and high tapers, scissor cuts, beard line-ups and traditional hot towel shaves. A men's haircut takes about 30 minutes. A fade with a beard line-up takes about 45. Most cuts run $60–$100 depending on the barber and the service.

Booked most often on Main Street

  • Skin fade with a beard line-up — the standard Old Town order, and the one to book ahead for on a Saturday.
  • Scissor cut and restyle — for longer hair and textured tops, where clippers aren't the answer.
  • Hot towel shave — straight razor, hot towel prep, done properly rather than quickly.
  • Beard sculpt — a full shape-up rather than a tidy, for beards that have grown past their outline.
  • Kids' cuts — welcome any day, easiest mid-week before the after-school rush.
  • Sneaker cleaning — drop your kicks off at the front while you're in the chair and collect them clean.

If you're not sure what to ask for, our guides to what a fade actually is, the seven basic haircuts and how a beard should be lined up will give you the vocabulary before you sit down.

Where Do I Park for a Haircut on Main Street?

Park free on Main Street directly outside the shop — the street spaces along the gallery block are three-hour, which is more than enough for any service we offer. Old Town also has free public garages within a few minutes' walk if Main Street is full, which it usually is on a Thursday evening and on event weekends.

  • Coming from Scottsdale Road — head west on Main Street; we're on the gallery stretch between Scottsdale Road and Goldwater Boulevard.
  • Coming from Camelback or Arcadia — our Optima Sonoran Village shop is closer, about 0.6 miles north on Camelback Road.
  • Staying in Old Town — most of the hotels and rentals in the district are inside a ten-minute walk.
  • Would rather not travel — our luxury mobile barber van comes to your home, office or hotel, starting at $200.

Thursdays on Main Street

Getting Cut Before the Scottsdale ArtWalk

The Scottsdale ArtWalk runs every Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 PM along Main Street — the same block we're on. It has been running since 1975 and is the longest-running weekly art walk in the country. It's free, the galleries stay open late, and there's usually live music on the street.

We close at 6:00 PM, so Thursday afternoon is the appointment to book if you want to be cut and then walk straight out into it. It's also the busiest street parking of the week after about 6:00 PM, which is worth knowing either way.

Cutting in Old Town since 2015

Who Cuts Hair at the Main Street Shop?

Wendy Armenta opened Blurred Lines in September 2015 and has been grooming men's hair since 2012. She leads the shop and still cuts. Alongside her, Cisco De la Cruz brings a decade behind the chair, Alfonzo Q. is the one to book for the same cut every time, and David Villanueva has built a fast following on clean blends and crisp line-ups. Angel Navarro, our longest-serving barber, is based at our Optima shop.

You book a barber, not a queue number — choose the person you want when you book online, and read their bios first if you're new to the shop.
